The Cowpasture River

Arguably the cleanest river in Virginia, the Cowpasture River flows through some of western Virginia's most scenic, rural landscape, including the Farm at Glen Haven. Beginning in Highland County, the Cowpasture flows south for over 80 miles through Bath, Alleghany, and Botetourt counties. At Iron Gate, it joins the Jackson River to form the James River.

"People who experience the river, whether residents or visitors find that its beauty and peace remain with them always." - CRPA
